School Route for Palm Beach, Currumbin, and Elanora Children
Under our contracts, students may be eligible to receive government funded travel to the nearest school on our approved route. To be eligible for this travel , primary students must live more than 3.2km from the nearest state school offering primary education. Secondary students must live more than 4.8km from the nearest state school offering secondary education.

Students must complete an application via the Department of Transport website to apply.
Once accepted, students will be able to travel with Currumbin Valley Bus and Coach. Should you wish your child will also receive a bus pass issued by Currumbin Valley Bus and Coach. This card is free on application but a replacement card will cost $5. This card enables students to tap on and off the school bus each day. Their parent / carer will receive an alert to keep them informed when their child gets on and off our school bus service.
In addition we have the ability to notify parents via SMS or Email if for unforeseen circumstances the school bus is running late. Currumbin Valley Bus and Coach, expect that all children using our service are aware of the Code of Conduct as issued by The Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads. A copy of the Code of Conduct can be found here. Should students not adhere to this Code of Conduct their eligibility to travel with us may be compromised.
All of our school buses are equipped with seatbelts and students are expected to wear their seatbelts at all times when travelling on our school bus service. In addition our vehicles have comfortable seating and are air-conditioned. Our School bus driving team are trained in our school route service. Our school bus timetable can be found here – please ensure your children are at their stop in a timely manner and waiting off the road. We have two vehicles that service our school run service each day.
Our large coach picks up the students along Currumbin Creek Road and the neighbouring streets, including the EcoVillage. Our mini bus starts at the top of Tomewin Mountain Road, services this road as well as Piggabeen Road. Both buses meet at the Tierney Drive interchange before students swap onto the vehicles taking them to school. The large coach services Elanora High School, PBC High School and Elanora Primary School. The small bus takes the children to (and from ) St Augustine’s and Currumbin Primary School. Do your vehicles have seat belts?
Yes all Currumbin Valley Bus and Coach Vehicles are equipped with seatbelts.
Do you allow for standing passengers ?
No we are not licensed to carry standing passengers all passengers must be in a seat with their seat belt on.
Do I need to wear a seat belt on a bus ?
As a seat belt is provided you are required by law to wear one.
Can my child sit on my lap ?
Children less than 1 year old can be held on the lap of someone 16 years or older. Children more than 1 year old and less than 7 years old can be restrained using a seat belt (but must not sit in the front seat if the vehicle has 2 or more rows of seats). How do I register by child on the Currumbin Valley Bus and Coach School Bus?
You will need to apply via the Queensland Transport website – once approved you will receive a letter from the Queensland department of transport.
